How to rank 529 plan performance Ranking over 3,000 investment options is no easy task, considering the wide variety of options found in 529 savings plans, and it requires a special methodology. Step one: We select specific portfolios from each 529 plan that can be compared on an apples-to-apples basis to portfolios in other 529 plans, based on their allocation among stocks, bonds and short-term instruments (money market and guaranteed investments). We've set up seven different asset-allocation categories ranging from 100 percent equity to 100 percent short-term. Step two: Within each of the seven categories, we compare historical performance of the selected portfolios and assign each plan a percentile ranking between one (best) and 100 (worst). Separate rankings are developed for one-year, three-year, five-year and ten-year performances. Step three: We take the average of each 529 plan's percentile rankings in the seven asset-allocation categories to produce a combined or "composite" percentile ranking. We then produce reports showing how the 529 plans rank against each other in their composite percentile rankings. Transformation As people age, they generally tend to transform from young and oblivious children into wise and aware adults. A group of young boys arrived on the island as proper English schoolboys, but months later, they left as dirty, unkempt savages. In William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies, an array of young school boys find themselves stranded on an island as a result of a plane crash during World War Two. With no adults, rules, and nothing holding them back, they are left to fend for themselves. In the beginning, the boys elect Ralph as chief, and begin to gradually become accustomed to the island. The rules are quite simple: a person can only talk if they have possession of the conch; those that do not have possession of the conch are not permitted to speak. As a result of the conch calling the boys together and it giving the survivors a democratic process for speaking, these simple rules bring order and democracy to an otherwise unrefined society. By the middle of the book, however, the conch has lost most, if not all, of its power to everyone besides Piggy and Ralph. They each believe that the conch alone has the power to hold the group together. If none of the boys follow the rules of the conch, then the hope of their survival is pointless. When Jack begins distancing himself from the rules of the conch and starts to only believe in hunting, Ralph realizes that if he blows the conch in an attempt to organize and the other survivors don’t respond, then all traces of the remaining civil behavior in the bots will be lost. After all, without a functional and organized society, they can begin their road to savagery. Near the end of Lord of the Flies, the conch has b een destroyed. During the 20th century there have been a number amount of incidents that resulted in a change in a countries government. Radical change in government was what started infamous wars such, World War I, World War II, and the Cold War. But, probably one of the most influential events that changed the United States was the Vietnam War that lasted roughly twenty years (1955-1975). The Vietnam War, also known in Vietnam as Resistance War Against America (Vietnamese: Khà ¡ng chiá º ¿n chá »â€˜ng Má » ¹) or simply the American War, was a Cold War-era proxy war that occurred in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The Cold War’s communist influence was what led Vietnam’s government to a communist government on its own.
